LEXINGTON, KY – The Rotary Club of Lexington will hold its weekly meeting Thursday, January 30th,  at the Red Mile, 1200 Red Mile Road. The program’s guest speaker is Dr. Gregory O. Hall.

In fall 2016, Dr. Hall joined the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky. He previously served as Head of the Department of Political Science and Director of the International Studies Program at Morehouse College. Dr. Hall has held appointments at institutions both in the United States and abroad, to include Hong Kong and Turkey. He has made numerous public appearances in various media outlets, schools, churches, and community organizations. Dr. Hall’s primary areas of teaching and research include international relations, international security, foreign policy, Global South affairs, international political economy, and, Eurasian affairs. Topics such as peace and security, and generally, a more just international relations are important to his research. Dr. Hall completed his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Political Science, with a concentration in International Relations from Howard University. Dr. Hall was a 1997 Fulbright Fellow in Kazan, Russia, and a former NEH (National Endowment of the Humanities) Summer Fellow. In addition, he was inducted into Sigma Iota Rho (International Studies Honor Society) and Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science Honor Society). Professor Hall is author of several articles, and is co-editor of (and contributor to) the book, Eternal Colonialism (University Press of America, Inc., 2010). His most recent book is titled Authority, Ascendancy, and Supremacy: China, Russia, and the United States’ Pursuit of Relevancy and Power (Routledge/Taylor & Francis, 2014). Professor Hall is currently working on a book project that is a follow-up to his previous U.S-China-Russia study.
