The Rotary Club of Lexington held its weekly meeting Thursday, June 16, at The Mane on Main and on Zoom. The program featured Jay Blanton, chief communications officer at the University of Kentucky.

Jay Blanton is chief communications officer at the University of Kentucky. In that role, he oversees media relations and executive communications among other communication areas. Previously, he worked in communication positions for former Governor Steve Beshear, former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson and former state Treasurer Jonathan Miller. He has worked in the private sector for the Keeneland Association as well as public relations firms in Lexington and Louisville. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in higher education, both from the University of Kentucky. He and his wife, Carla, who owns a public relations consulting firm, live in Lexington.
