The Rotary Club of Lexington held its annual holiday luncheon on Thursday, December 13, at 12:00 p.m., at the Red Mile, 1200 Red Mile Road.   The week’s “speaker” was St. Nicholas himself, commonly known as Santa Claus.

Santa brought Christmas gifts from generous Rotarians to 25 special guests, children from Booker T. Washington Elementary ranging from five to eleven years old, many of them children who might otherwise not have a gift this year—or even a Christmas tree.  The children were treated to a holiday lunch of Christmas favorites like mac and cheese, chicken strips and Christmas cookies and they joined Santa’s elves and  other Rotarians in singing Christmas carols as a way to celebrate the holiday season together.
