The men and women of our armed forces have certainly been in the news and on our minds recently. As we have been doing for some time now, the Rotary of Lexington spent the evening of June 18th helping Military Missions provide aid and comfort to our military folks stationed around the globe. Approximately 20 Rotarians, family, and friends gathered at Military Missions to pack goodie bags for deployed military service members at Military Missions!
MILITARY MISSIONS Military Missions, Inc. is a Lexington-based 501c3 non-profit organization that exists to support and honor deployed military personnel by sending care packages year-round as an expression of appreciation and gratitude.
Every year, Military Missions sends thousands of Care Packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen deployed overseas. Each package contains snacks, hygiene products, socks, and entertainment items, as well as cards and personal letters of support.
Through various fundraisers, collection drives, letter-writing campaigns, and care package assembly events, Military Missions provides civilians all across America a way to say “Thank You” through active, hands-on volunteerism.
Here are a few pics of smiling faces and the good work being done!
