Lexington, KY (April 15, 2025) – Todd and Karen Ziegler are taking their next big step together—onto the dance floor—for the 2025 Dancing with the Lexington Stars, all to support the Rotary Club of Lexington’s annual fundraiser for surgery access and scholarships.
Todd, a former basketball player, and Karen, a former cheerleader, first met at a University of Kentucky sorority blind date party. That night sparked a love story that has spanned nearly 36 years of marriage, three adult children – Tyler, Patrick, and Logan – and a five-year-old grandson they adore, PJ.
Professionally, Todd has spent his career in banking and currently serves as President of Republic Bank’s Central Kentucky Market. Karen recently retired from Fayette County Public Schools, where she was a dedicated educator. Both are deeply committed to their community. Todd is active on numerous boards, including the Urban League (where he serves as Treasurer), Commerce Lexington, Ventures, and the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
Though they don’t claim to be seasoned dancers, the Zieglers are embracing the challenge with enthusiasm and heart. “We’re definitely stepping outside our comfort zone,” they said, “but we’re doing it for a great cause and having a lot of fun along the way.”
