Rotarian Scott Neal, Chair, Scholarship Committee, introduced three very deserving students who received the 2025 scholarships.       While all three of this year’s award recipients excelled in multiple ways, the Committee focused heavily on applicants’ essay answers to two questions:  why does the candidate deserve the award and why will this award help them afford their continuing education.  We think you will agree the Committee chose well.  Cerise Archer is a recent graduate of Lafayette High School in the Pre Engineering Program and a SCAPA Theatre Performance major. The Rotary Club of Lexington has a long and strong association with Scouting America(formerly Boy Scouts of America. Edwin Gibson, chair of our Scouting Committee, reports that members of the Committee attended the 2025 Good Scout Award Luncheon at the Signature Club of Landsdowne. The annual luncheon celebrates the accomplishments of Scouts by featuring an outstanding young person, who describes his or her journey to the rank of Eagle Scout. Taking over the reins of a Rotary Club is a commitment not to be taken lightly. Most of us know about the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI), a course recommended for all Rotarians to gain a more in-depth understanding of Rotary both globally and locally. Graduation from RLI is mandatory for certain Club leadership. In addition to RLI, presidents-elects are also required to attend The President-Elect Training Seminar (PETS). ROTARY WOMEN BUILD SKILLS AND CAPACITY FOR SERVICE

The women of Rotary Club of Lexington came together in true#GirlPowerfashion for a hands-on Women Build experience at Lowe’s, participating in painting and patching workshops designed to empower them with home improvement skills. These workshops not only prepared them to tackle projects in their own homes but also equipped them to contribute to Phase 3 of Women Build and support critical home repairs for those in need.
