News Anchor Mariah Congedo and Business Leader Monica Owens Ready to Shine on the Dance Floor
Lexington, KY (April 8, 2028) – Two dynamic women are trading in their daily routines for dance shoes as they prepare to take the stage at the Rotary Club of Lexington’s Dancing with the Lexington Stars fundraiser, happening Saturday, May 10, 2025, at The Carrick House.
Mariah Congedo, a morning news anchor and reporter for WKYT, is no stranger to early alarms – or to the dance floor. You can catch her each weekday on WKYT and The CW Lexington, but this spring she’s adding a different kind of performance to her resume. A proud graduate of West Virginia University and a former D1 dance team member, Mariah has been dancing since age 3 and even participated in Dancing with the Stars events in her previous news markets in Savannah, GA, and Clarksburg, WV. She’s also a coach at Lexington’s MADabolic gym and brings passion, poise, and serious rhythm to this year’s competition.
Monica Owens is bringing championship energy to the ballroom. A Cumberland High School standout and LMU Hall of Famer, Monica’s athletic career spans basketball, pageantry, and public service. Now an independent consultant focused on personal wellness and leadership development, Monica inspires others through her work as a growth mindset coach. The proud mother of Maaliya Owens – a recent OVC Preseason Player of the Year – Monica is ready to bring both fire and flair to the dance floor. Both women are dancing to support the Rotary Club of Lexington’s mission and the local nonprofits it serves. They’ll be joined by six other celebrity competitors, each paired with a professional dancer from Arthur Murray Dance Studio Kentucky.
